How We Met
Jackson and I met when we were Freshmen at Point Loma Nazarene University. We both lived in the same dorm. Jackson became one of my best friends and we started dating shortly thereafter! We fell head over heels in love and traveled the world together during study abroad.
How They Asked
I had been contacted by the sweetest California photographers asking if my boyfriend and I would be interested in modeling at a wedding shoot for them. I asked Jackson if he would be willing to do it and he agreed because he knew I was excited about the opportunity.
Without me knowing Jackson contacted the photographers and secretly asked if he could propose at the end of the photography session. The photographers were willing to be involved in this surprise and encouraged me to bring a change of clothes for some regular couple shots after the “wedding attire portion”.
Towards the end of the session, we were posing at Sunset Cliffs beach in San Diego. During one of the shots, I was facing the ocean, and Jackson was behind me. The photographers told me to turn around and when I turned I saw Jackson was down on one knee! He asked me to marry him and I excitedly said yes! I am not good with surprises, but Jackson pulled it off as I had no idea the proposal was going to happen!
Jackson proposed the day before my birthday, and after the proposal, we went back to the house where Jackson had planned a surprise party with all of our close friends. We had a wonderful night full of celebrating!
