Kryzia and Sean
How We Met
Sean and I met in college through mutual friends and Greek life. He asked me out on our first date which happened to be Valentine’s Day of 2012. We went out on our second date shortly after that then our third and forth. He’s my first love and best friend and I’m his. These last 7 years have been more than I could have ever hoped for and dreamed of because he’s been by my side.
How They Asked
We were supposed to go to Laguna Beach this weekend, but because of the rainy weather, we decided to stay home (Las Vegas). I was really sad because I was looking forward to spending a long weekend just us two celebrating 7 years since we started dating. He told me we were just gonna celebrate Valentine’s on Saturday since we both don’t enjoy being limited to the pre-fix menu at restaurants on Valentine’s Day.
About a week before all of this one of our friend’s invited us to his girlfriend’s birthday dinner on Friday, February 15th at the Retreat at Mt. Charleston. I thought nothing of it because out of all the people we know she would be the one who would want to celebrate her birthday at a mountain lodge. Looking back throughout the day everyone did so well making sure I had no clue. We finally got to the Retreat at Mt. Charleston and Sean tells the hostess that we were there for our friend’s birthday and the hostess being in on the surprise said: “they are right this way follow me”.
She lead us through doors that brought us outside to a snowy courtyard. Standing there were our friends and family standing in two lines all holding roses that led me to a wooden arch arbor that was lined with candles and flower petals and light up marquee letter’s that said: “marry me”. As I collected the roses while I greeted and hugged each person I started to cry, but when I finally got to Sean all I could do was smile. He got on one knee told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. I said “yes” and sealed it with a kiss.
Bonus points: he enlisted the help of my sister and our wedding planner friends who made sure they had a photographer there capturing the whole thing. @nicolehernandezphotography
