How We Met
From Nick We feel like our “how we met” story is embarrassing lol. We met in January of 2015. We both were out with our friends at one of our local bars “The Rack”. Kristie and her friend were just leaving when we walked passed each other and made eye contact. We all had a few drinks and then drove to IHOP since Kristie’s favorite thing to do is eat. She threw down a Grand Slam and we’ve been history ever since! We took about 3 months after that to genuinely get to know each other before officially dating.
What I love most about Kristie is how beautiful she is and her sense of adventure. I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be able to call this beautiful woman my soon to be wife. The best part about my days are knowing I get to wake up and fall asleep next to her, everyday for the rest of my life. I love that she is always down to do new things, from Crossfit to mudruns to zip lining, she loves it all.
From Kristie What I love most about Nick is how loving and sensitive he is. There is not a day that goes by that he does not tell me and show me how much he loves me, how beautiful I am, and how lucky he is to have me, and it comes from the heart every time. He doesn’t just say it as part of a daily routine. A simple love song playing in the car together can give him watery eyes while he looks at me.
how they asked
Our proposal was so memorable! We got engaged on December 10th 2016 in St. Augustine. Kristie’s birthday is December 13th, so Nick decided to take her to “Nights of Lights” in St. Augustine for the weekend as a “birthday trip” since she loves Christmas and Christmas lights. His sister and brother in law came with us so she did not suspect a thing. We checked into our hotel and changed to get dinner, we also were going on a boat tour that evening. We walked all the way to the town square. A giant Christmas tree stands in the center of the square with lights hanging from all of the trees. There is a gazebo that sits in front of the tree and stands tall in the park. His sister asked if Kristie would take a photo of her and her husband up on the gazebo with the tree and all of the people in the background. She then offered to take our picture. When we went to pose for the photo, Nick got down on one knee and proposed. Of course she said yes and all of the people in the crowd clapped and cheered.
