How We Met
We actually first met about 22 years ago when I was the flower girl in Vito’s sisters wedding!
We would see each other occasionally through the years at family parties but in October 2011, everything changed! We both attended an engagement party for my moms cousin.
We talked ALL night, Vito even texted me the rest night after we both got home. We went on our first date the next day, which was Vito’s mother’s birthday (which he ditched…Oops!). And we’ve been inseparable ever since !
how they asked
Vito works on the weekends with his friend Sal, who is a wedding photographer. Months ago, Vito told me that Sal was looking to re-do his portfolio and wanted to know if we would help him out with some pictures. Anyone who knows me knows that I would never turn down a photo shoot! So when I was home from Veterinary School for the holidays, we set up the photo session. On Friday, December 15th, 2017, we woke up to a beautiful snowy morning in New Jersey! Vito was complaining all morning about the snow and how cold it was but I was so excited! I kept telling him, “what are you so mad about, these pictures are gonna look so beautiful with the snow!” By mid afternoon it was snowing even harder and off we went to Lambert’s Castle in Paternson, NJ to meet Sal for the photoshoot. When we got there Sal set us up for a bunch of shots in the front of the castle and eventually had us walk around to the back to take some with a different scenery. Sal had a plastic bag with him that he said he wanted to use for a specific shot he wanted to try (little did I know, he was about to set me up for the greatest surprise of my life). He had me and Vito stand back to back and told us each to grab a handful of rose petals out of the bag (I found out later on that Vito bought these petals the night before and dropped them off at Sal’s house). Since my back was turned I couldn’t see that Vito didn’t take any petals. Sal then told us, “on the count of three, turn around and face each other while throwing the petals in the air.” On the count of three, I turned and threw the petals, and there was Vito, on one knee, with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen.
