Kristen San's Proposal in At home

Summer 2012, as we look back, could not have been more perfect. On a Tuesday night, my best friend dragged me to Bar Anticipation for twenty-five cent beer night. It was my first summer being twenty-one. Alexandra said she would show me around The Shore, and this was the start. We planned on meeting her friend Dom, who I knew pretty well, but I was a little lost for words when I laid eyes on his friend Dave. The world stood still for me. A few twenty-five cent beers led us to a night of laughter and great conversation. I liked this night, I liked this bar, and above all — I liked Dave. My summer took an adventurous turn that night, and alongside me the whole ride was Dave. Dave was my Summer 2012.

Fast forward 5 years, Dave and I had accomplished so much! I graduated college, we both flourished in our careers and when the time was right, we bought our first home. It was our place to grow and learn. We worked hard, we loved hard — but something was missing — and it wasn’t the ring! Not yet! After settling in, we purchased our first puppy Carly, and six months later we bought home her little pup brother, Chip! Our hearts were full, we were a family now!

A year later, Dave FINALLY popped the question! It was a Sunday in October. We were on our way to a winery, and I had a feeling that something was going to happen that day! We walked the vineyard, sipped on wine, and I totally could feel the nervous energy. After a few hours of being at the vineyard, nothing had happened. I was a little bummed, but it was okay, the wait would be worth it. We had it all. But when we had gotten home, rose petals, candles and the sweet voices of Florida Georgia Line paved the path to where Dave would get down on one knee, asking me to marry him! I was speechless! My Dave, my Summer 2012, had asked me to be his wife. My best friend, and now fiancé, wanted to spend the rest of his life along side of me. OFCOURSE I SAID YES! And it all happened in our happy home. Home, sweet home.
