How We Met: Sean and I went to high school together. We knew each but never really hung out. He was one of the cool kids and I, well not so much. Well, December 2, 2013, I went out with two of my girlfriends to celebrate getting a new job, that wasn’t in a restaurant. Sean and his best friend, Gary, showed up to watch some sporting event at the bar. I immediately recognized them and bought them a shot. We all started talking and exchanged twitter and snapchat handles so we can talk but not be awkward about it, they were still the “cool kids” in my eyes. After meeting up at dance halls and country bars, Sean and I finally exchanged numbers and started “talking”. He was, and still is, everything that I have ever wanted in a man. I am so blessed to be able to call him my fiancé.
how they asked: Sean contacted my best friends and told them he wanted to propose and wanted it to be special. Sean knew that I wanted my friends to be a part of it but in a way that I didn’t know that it was happening. Back in college, my Big Sister in my sorority would hold random photoshoots. So for her, being roughly a little more than an hour away, to text a couple of us saying lets do a photoshoot because she misses us, was completely normal and unsuspicious. I decided that some other girls needed to be at this photoshoot and added them into the text group. Little did I know, they were already part of the Master Plan. We had this group text going for about 3 weeks. They kept this secret from me for 3 WEEKS! I am so proud of these girls for that because they aren’t very good at keeping secrets. When the day finally came, my best friend, Francesca, came over to do my hair. I’m all excited to see my friends and do a photoshoot and she’s all excited for a completely different reason. We head out to The Harbor and meet up with the other girls. We walk down to where the lighthouse is and start the “Photoshoot”. First we do individuals against a wall and then some group shots. Then, Kalah makes Francesca, Kami, and I face the lighthouse and do different poses. Then made us do individual shots with the lighthouse, then more group shots at the lighthouse, then paired up with the lighthouse, then back to group shots with the lighthouse. Needless to say, I was kind of over this lighthouse. Finally, Sean arrives and we turn around. He looks so nice! So I make him take a picture with me. I thought he was there to pick me up because we were going to my brother’s birthday dinner after the photoshoot was done. He grabs my hands and makes me face him. He was shaking so hard and that’s when he said, “Baby, I strive everyday to make you the happiest woman alive. Today will you make me the happiest man alive?” He got down on one knee and said these magical words, “Krisanne, will you marry me?”
I was in complete shock and didn’t say anything, but in my head I’m screaming YES!! So he asked again, “Baby, will you marry me?” I am able to nod my head yes and he puts the ring on my finger! I am so happy! I get to marry the man of my dreams and I am the luckiest girl alive. My best friends were there and I was completely surprised! I couldn’t have asked for a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I love you, Sean!
