How We Met
You could call us high school sweet hearts. Matt and I met my first day of high school orientation. He was my junior tour guide leader. He says this was the day he told his friends that “one day soon I’d be his girlfriend.”
After months of me playing hard to get, we finally started dating and we’ve been together ever since. We’ve grown up together over the past 11 years.
how they asked
In October, we took a trip to visit the golden coast of California. After leaving San Fransisco, we started our journey toward Big Sur.
As we approached the Bixby Bridge, we stopped on the side of the road to take in the scenery. I jolted out of the car, mesmerized by the cliff side views with no recollection for anything else.
I was in heaven and almost didn’t notice Matt behind me, pacing back and forth. He looked a bit flush and was shaking. I thought he was having a heart attack.
When I asked him if he was ok, he then bent down on one knee and asked me to do him the honor of being his wife. I completely lost it.
I was overjoyed. Of course, I said yes! It was all so perfect it almost didn’t seem real.
That’s when I realized the photographer lurking in the bushes. I was in awe that he planned such a special way to propose.
Big Sur was breathtaking in and of itself, and getting proposed there topped the cake. We stayed until sunset to revel in the happiness and call friends and family. It was completely magical.
