How We Met
Travis and I met on a Caribbean cruise in 2011. He approached me in the pool of the ship wearing a cowboy hat. He won me over in that moment. He told me he was from Utah. I was from New Jersey and couldn’t point out Utah on a map. He was charming and down to earth.He opened up a world I always knew I was mean for. We spent the week together and exchanged numbers. A year later he called me to go on a date. He was in Manhattan for the week. I drove up to see him and the rest is history…
how they asked
Our relationship was a fairytale. But the day we declared ourselves boyfriend/girlfriend, we found out my mom had stage 4 lung cancer. I called him and told him he could back out of the relationship right then. He said he wanted to be there for me. And he was dedicated to my family and I until my mom went to be with her brother and dad in heaven. Moms though, are always right. And on our first date, she told me she knew I was going to marry him.
On October 18, 2014 Travis, myself and his family took the tram up to the top of the mountain at our favorite ski resort at 11,000ft in Snowbird, UT. I asked his family if they could take a picture of us. As we came together I teased “Pretend you like me” and he said “It’s a little more than that..” as he dropped to one knee.
