how we met
We met at a local Campus restaurant and bar (Eddie George’s) while watching Ohio State play Navy. It was their season opener in 2014. As typical Ohio State fans he yelled O-H, and I replied with I-O! We then began discussing our aspirations for the season despite Braxton Miller’s injury and contemplated who would step up on the team to have a successful season. This meeting was absolutely fate. Michael has just moved from New York and finished his first week as a teacher in Cleveland. We met his first weekend while he was visiting one of his cousins.
how they asked
I had an idea of when and how he would propose, but not the exact date and manner. I was convinced he would propose the weekend before he actually popped the question. Most of his family came in from New York that weekend for the Penn State game. Just like the weekend, the game started and ended without a ring in my finger. The following weekend we decided last minute to buy Michigan State tickets the night before kickoff. The drive fromCleveland was a breeze, we even received free parking because we showed up so close to kick off. We briskly walked from the Ohio State Medical Center to the stadium because Michael hates to be late. But not this time. As we approached the stadium Michael led me through Buckeye Grove, a path we didn’t normally take and that’s when it happened. In front of 100+ Thousand Ohio State fans minutes before kickoff Michael got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
