We actually met online. Kira was visiting her family in Michigan for Christmas when we matched up and we decided to meet up a couple of times while she was home for break. When she went back to Arizona for her next quarter of medical school, we kept in touch and our relationship took off from there.

We got engaged in Paris last Christmas. We booked the trip to visit her mom, who lives a few hours outside of Paris. As much as I didn’t want to make it a cliche proposal, I also wanted to make it special for her. She had been talking about the Pont Alexandre III bridge since we started dating. So after the two of us visited the Louvre, we walked along the river and when we got to the bridge I asked her to marry me.
