How We Met
Evan and I met in 2016 when we were both volunteering at the same fire company. We didn’t hit it off right away but after a couple of months, we started talking. We then went on a couple of dates and started to spend all our time together. At the end of 2016, we ended up moving in together. We had our daughter Kallista in October 2018.
How They Asked
My family has had a place outside of Chincoteague Island, Va since the ’70s. We go down there during the summer and we are both in love with the campground and the Island. It was July 4th and Evan said he was taking me out to dinner while my family stayed back at the campground. Of course, I was taking FOREVER but I didn’t know there was a rush. He took me to the Wildlife Refuge first so that we could look at the ponies before dinner. Long and behold they were almost to the road and I love it when that happens. So we get out to watch them. Next thing I know I look over and he is down on one knee. Of course, I said yes and he puts the most beautiful ring on my finger. It was so hot outside. I thought I was imagining things when a lady was taking our photos but he really did get a photographer! I felt so bad for the photographer because it was so hot outside and since I took so long she was waiting to spot us. We then proceeded to the beach to take pictures with our daughter and went to a family dinner at Etta’s Channel Side Restaurant.
