Keston and Paul

How We Met

We always knew of each other from living in a small town. We “officially” met and got to know one another when we started working at Rivermont together in 2013. From there, we formed a friendship from working with one another on a daily basis. We continued our friendship over the course of the last 5 years and would often talk to each other on daily basis at work. I would also bounce ideas off of him and ask his advice and opinion when it came to coaching because I knew he “knew his stuff” and could help me out. However, due to being in different seasons of our lives, we never gave anything else a thought until February of 2018. When people ask, “how did you all get together?” I just tell them this: “It is one of those things that just happened.” I was not really looking for a relationship, I was pretty content with my life, but I took a leap of faith and I am so glad that I did.

how they asked

My proposal took me by surprise and it was so fun and perfect! Paul wanted his girls (now our girls) to be involved in the proposal- that was very important to him! Whenever we have the girls we always play some type of fun game. So, the girls had planned a game of “Hangman” to play. I had to go first and my phrase to guess was “We love you!” Paul went next to guess his phrase. (Which he already knew… but, he had to play along). So, he guessed a few letters from the phrase and then he was ready to solve…. The next thing I know he was down on one knee solving the puzzle, which was “Will you marry me, Keston?” Needless to say, I was speechless! But, quickly said yes!
