Kerra and Mike

how we met

We met in college! Well I was in college and Mike was just visiting a friend who went there. We spent a lot of time together that first year and became good friends (which was inevitable when he got himself snowed in with the rest of us during a huge snow storm). We didn’t realize we had feelings for each other until right before he left for Marine Corps Boot Camp. Unfortunately we lost touch for a while until nearly a year later when we finally spoke again (and have been together ever since!).

how they asked

The proposal was far from a surprise. But that’s only because I knew about the ring and there’s something about Mike planning a trip to one of my favorite places with both sets of parents in tow that’s just really suspicious. Longwood Gardens was the most perfect place though and I was willing to blissfully ignore just how nervous Mike was the entire night to let my fairytale proposal unfold. It was right around Christmas, so they had all of the most beautiful lights everywhere which made for lots of perfect backdrops. I could tell we were going from place to place waiting for the perfect moment, until we finally ended up in the Conservatory in front of the most magical floating trees when he finally got down on his knee and asked me! Even though it was far from a surprise, it was still the most perfect proposal and I’m beyond excited to revisit that special spot in visits to come.

Special Thanks
