how we met
Mike and I began talking after connecting on a dating app in March 2017. I was leaving for a girls trip to Hawaii in a couple days, and wanted to wait to meet until after I got back so we could get to know each other more. I sent pictures of my tropical adventures and he matched them with pictures of his current snowboarding trip. Our first date went perfect with go-cart racing, mini-golf where he played with his non-dominant band to make me feel better, and splitting a dessert at a restaurant nearby. We connected instantly over our daughters being similar in age; my oldest and his daughter are only three months apart. When the time came for them all to meet, they bonded immediately, and it has been a seamless transition into a blended family.
how they asked
The proposal was on our Christmas vacation on beautiful Mission Beach right before sunset. He surprised me by getting on one knee during planned family pictures with the photographer there to capture it all. The best part was our family was already present to witness it and our girls shared in our excitement to “finally!” make it official.
