Kelsey and Justin

How We Met

Justin and I met at a bar in 2012. I was actually the one that started the flirting but had to do so by striking up a conversation with his friend, Matt. Once I had my “in”, we chatted a bit and even hung out a couple of other times… but things ended up fizzling… Fast forward to 2016, and I came up as one of Justin’s ‘suggested friends’ on FaceBook. He added me and sent me a message asking if I’d like to grab drinks. We met up and, as the cliche’ saying goes, the rest was history.

how they asked

Unbeknownst to me, Justin had been planning this day for upwards of 3 months. He told me we would be getting dinner with his boss, and that he was getting a promotion, so I needed to dress up. That morning, his mom “needed help with something’ so we left the house early to drop by and help her first. She works as a teacher at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. While she was showing me around her classroom, Justin was grabbing the ring. He said we had some time to kill before dinner, and suggested we take a walk around the Mission.

We walked up to the fountain in the center of the courtyard and that’s when he poured his heart out and got down on one knee. To top off an already amazing proposal, we went to a bar nearby and walked into both of our families and closest friends! It was sensory overload, and I could not have asked for a more special moment that I will never forget. The effort he put into the planning and secrecy of the day solidifies the hundreds of reasons why I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

Special Thanks
