How We Met
We met in college but have a story unlike any other. We were actually sorority sisters living in the same house, fast forward two years later and I came out as transgender, as a transman we’ve had to go through things we never expected to at such a young age. We’ve been together and lived together for 3 and a half years and still to this day, laugh about how chaotic and unconventional our story is. What we’ve gone through has been extremely hard but loving each other through it all is one of the easiest things ever.
how they asked
I wanted to propose in a way that was so “us” and doing it in a place that celebrate diversity and equality, I really couldn’t think of a better way to propose than at the Women’s March in downtown Phoenix. I was so nervous all morning about finding the right time to pop the question and before the march started, I ran to the bathroom and noticed a quote on the wall written in marker. It said: “you’ll never be 100% ready. Do it anyway!” I couldn’t believe it. Fast forward a couple hours and I was on one knee in front of the Capital. We were surrounded by loved ones and I still can’t believe it. I feel so fortunate to have my best friends by my side now and forever.
