how we met
We met on TINDER. I know, so romantic. We matched, and started talking about our gardens. I have an aquaponic garden at school (I’m a Middle School Science Teacher), and Harold went to school for botany, and his parents owned a famous nursery in Jamul that had been in business for 70 years (I think).
We had our first date at the zoo. We kept extending the date to dinner, and then drinks. We have spent every single day together since then. We bonded over our love for nature, animals, road trips and being kids at heart!
how they asked
Harold took me to Palm Springs. It is a very special place for my family – we’ve been going there together every year for my entire life. We even spread my grandfathers ashes in the desert there.
Harold took us up the tram, and proposed to me on top of the mountain there. I saw the ring box in his pocket as we were hiking and knew it was about to happen.
He got down on one knee and we both cried. He was so nervous he was going to drop the ring off the mountain. We didn’t tell anyone we got engaged until late that night. It was great to just be in our own engagement bubble out on the town in Palm Desert. It was one of the best days of my life!
