How We Met
We met in college at Oregon State University in 2009. Despite having a ton of mutual friends, we never ran into each other the first three years of college. One night, we finally ended up at the same party together. Kelsey caught my eye immediately and I walked up to her and said, “Hi, I’m Colin. I think we should be friends.” The rest is history.
how they asked
I work for a drone company (drones for photo/video, not for military) and had a chance to take a work trip to Norway this spring. I knew I wanted to propose to Kelsey there, so I convinced her to tag along with me. After spending a couple days doing meetings in Oslo, we headed into the fjords to meet up with photographers Eskil Digernes and Kym Pham. Eskil and Kym live in a small village called Ovre Ardal and they were kind enough to show us around the fjords for a day. I had the lookout in Aurslandfjord in mind when we started the day, but I wasn’t positive this would be the place to propose (we were heading to the picturesque Lofoten Islands the next day). When we got there, I realized there might not be a better place on earth to do it. I waited for all the other visitors to clear out, and asked a friend to take a photo of Kelsey and I out on the end of the lookout. As we walked out onto the lookout, he told Eskil & Kym what was about to happen. It was perfect, and we are so grateful to have such incredible photos to remember it forever.
