How We Met
Josh and I met 8.5 years ago, in the most typical way, through an online dating site. Though it was me who messaged him first, it took him almost two weeks to message me back!
We met shortly after, and it has been a whirlwind of a relationship. We have both grown together and separately, which allowed us to become a stronger couple.
How They Asked
I knew it was coming, but I just didn’t know when. Earlier in 2019, we discussed that we wanted to get married in 2020, and I didn’t need a ring to start the process of planning. I chose him, ring or not.
Fast forward to December. I knew something was up with Josh through the entire month, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I didn’t say a thing. It was a regular Saturday when he came home from working OT, and he asked if I wanted to go for a walk. Nothing out of the ordinary about that, we go for walks often. After the walk, He asked to take some self-timer photos (again, we do this often… so didn’t think much of it). We set up our phones, and as I was setting up mine I noticed him was on video, and for once in my life, I didn’t say anything. I left it.
I put the self-timer on and ran back to him to pose. And as I turned my head to smile, he had already pulled the box out and I knew immediately. And I just lost it.
I don’t remember what was said, all I remember is my heart couldn’t be contained. It was the most perfect moment, on the most perfect ordinary day.
