How We Met
Jordan and I grew up going to rival high schools. We had a few mutual friends, but didn’t really cross paths ourselves. We went to separate colleges and crossed paths a couple of years after graduating through those same mutual friends. We both felt a connection but nothing really came about. Fast forward a couple of years – I moved to Denver and Jordan found himself moving to Denver about 6 months later. We’ve been inseparable ever since! :)
How They Asked
Jordan has always had to work holidays with his job so when he told me he couldn’t come home to Kansas City for Christmas, I was bummed but understood. I went home for two weeks over Christmas to spend quality time with friends and family. I always joked that I can sniff out a surprise from a mile away, and Jordan always said “yeah yeah, we’ll see…” On the last full day I was home, my girls and I decided to go get drinks at a couple of new cocktail bars we had been wanting to try. We were checking a new out a new place at Union Station, when one of my friends suggested we take a picture by the giant Christmas tree. We were posed in front of it when all of a sudden I felt a tap tap on my shoulder. I was in complete and utter shock that Jordan was all of a sudden standing in front of me and down on one knee, and then had planned a perfect engagement party afterwards with all of our family and friends. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world getting to spend the rest of my days with him. He truly did surprise the gal who didn’t think it was possible!
