How We Met

Lucas and I met during our first semester of college freshman year at The University of Toledo. Little did we know, we had lived 20 minutes from each other our whole lives with several mutual friends. Unfortunately, I had already decided to transfer two hours back home after the I completed the fall semester. When winter break came Lucas and I decided that we weren’t ready to say goodbye and he asked me to be his girlfriend after less than a month of dating. In January he went back to Toledo and I stayed in the Akron area. 5 years and lots of countdowns later we both finished school and my favorite guy finally moved back home!

how they asked

Our entire relationship Lucas and I looked forward to the day that we would move in together and get a puppy. The first part happened in May and shortly after in July our little family of two grew to three! Winston has been the greatest thing to happen to us. So like natural dog parents, we planned a photoshoot with him so that we could use the picture on our 2016 Christmas card.

We met up with a friend of mine at a Christmas tree farm and after 20 minutes of pictures she said she had a prop to put on Winston.

I assumed it was a “Happy Holidays” sign or something cute to compliment our Christmas card. Several minutes later Winston turned around and ran towards us with a sign that said “Will you marry us?”

Before I could say anything Lucas was down on one knee telling me how much he loved me and asked if I would marry them.

The rest was a blur but definitely one of the best moments of my life. I get to spend the rest of my life with my two favorite boys and I couldn’t be any happier!
