How We Met

A bit unconventional. I personally had given up on finding someone who would be willing to put up with me and my attitude. Corwin and I met on Facebook. We talked for a couple of months before I was finally ready to commit to a meeting. When we did finally met though, it was such an enjoyable night. It wasn’t too long after that when we introduced the other to our parents and friends. From that point on, we both knew we wanted to spend our lives together.

How They Asked

We had talked about getting married for a month, however, both of us were trying to get our feet under us a little more before we took on the responsibility of living a life together. After locking me out of my house in order to talk to my parents, he got permission from both of my parents. On July 3rd, he took me to Cataract Falls, a state park in southern Indiana. I was under the impression that we were just going on a “state park adventure” because he had taken a vacation the week of July 4th. After watching the upper falls from the observation balconies for a bit, we decided to hike a bit down to one of the banks away from the falls.

After helping me out onto some of the larger rocks to get some better pictures of the falls, he urged me to turn around. To my absolute shock, I turned around to him down on one knee on a rock out in the water. Though, I know a lot of people like to have people around for proposals, I could not have picked anything better. We were not entirely alone in our spot, but we were away far enough that we were able to spend time together, just the two of us & really soak in what had just happened. Another bonus was that there weren’t really many people around to see my makeup run all down my face when I started happy crying!
