How We Met
Ryan and I first met through a mutual friend a couple of years ago but it was journey just to get to our first date. The day of our first date, I ended up not feeling well and while most couples would just reschedule for the next night, that was not going to be an option for me because I was leaving for a two week vacation to Ireland. Might I add that there was no way of contacting him while I was away. I thought that he would just move on but to my surprise as soon as I was back in the states he called so that we could finally have our first date.
how they asked
For our first vacation together Ryan and I decided to take a trip to San Antonio. On our first night there, Ryan suggested that we go to Riverwalk. I thought that this was a much better plan than our original idea to go during the middle of the day when it would be a million degrees. When we first got there, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. We started our way down the path just talking about how peaceful it was. At first it was nice but then it began to get hot and Ryan wouldn’t tell where we were going. He seemed to be searching for something but I didn’t know what. When we came across a local hotel he went inside to ask for directions. The good news was that it was starting to get dark so it was beginning to cool off outside but the bad news was that we had been walking about 2 miles in the wrong direction. So we began to make our way towards this unknown location. Fast forward to asking multiple people and cops for directions and one very nice bartender to physically walk us to the spot, Ryan told me that this place that we searched two hours for was marriage island. He told me that this island got its name because of the tree that extends out of the river creates an island that resembles a heart. Obviously we wanted pictures next to it so he asked a nice group of people to take our picture and right in the middle of it he dropped to his knee.
