How We Met
Peyton and I have always gone to school together. We always knew of each other, but never actually spoke in person. He was in the cool crowd, while I was a softball maniac and very shy. Never, in a million years, did I think That we would come together, but thankfully we did. It was December of 2016 when it happened.
He wrote a status on Facebook, which led to me reaching out to him to give some advice. He loved what I wrote and we began talking to each other every day. We decided to go out on a date together and we had so much fun. Our conversations just flow and there was never any awkwardness. Spending time together became our favorite thing to do and it still is.
how they asked
Fast forward to 9 months after we started dating and we are attending an anniversary party for his godparents. He introduced me as his “future wife” all night to family members I hadn’t already met. That same month, he told me to come along to Kay Jewelers in our local mall. Little did I know that we were going to pick out my ring! He wasn’t sure what style I would like and he knows that I have tiny fingers, so he wanted me to pick out my ring since I have to wear it for life. So, we purchased a ring and that was it. No proposal that night. Oh! And a bonus? He asked my parents (yes, my mom and my dad!) permission to even purchase a ring for me. I lived On the edge of my seat for the next few months because I had no idea when he was going to propose.
We end up in December… Christmas Eve of 2017 to be exact. We attend mass with my family and head to Prime Steakhouse for dinner. About halfway through our meal, he asks me to stand up and I still had no idea what was going on. Next thing I know, he’s down on one knee asking me to marry him. I, of course, said yes! The entire restaurant broke out into clapping and screaming. It was more than I could’ve ever asked for and I can’t.
