Kaycie and Will
How We Met
When I was 13 years old I moved from Little Elm, Texas to Northport, Alabama. I began school as a 7th grader at Echols Middle School. I remember my first day everyone swooning over me because I was the “new girl”, Will Baker was one of the many who swooned. We began hanging out with a mutual friend and I instantly began falling in love with him. At this time he was only 12 years old. I thought he was the funniest person I had ever met, he could make me laugh until my belly hurt.. he still does. We became boyfriend and girlfriend and dated the rest of 7th and 8th grade. Will and were on and off in high school. We dated all of 10th grade and found our way back together senior year when I found out I would be moving back to Texas due to my dad’s job. After graduation in 2013 I moved back to Texas and at 18 years old Will and I knew we needed to go our separate ways. We were both heartbroken, I don’t think my heart could ever handle feeling pain like that again. We both dated other people until January of 2016 when we decided we were mature enough for a long distance relationship. I thank Jesus for being all faithful, He had finally answered my prayers- Will and I began back dating May 12th, 2016.
how they asked
On Monday July 10th, we spent the day at the pool in Orange Beach, Alabama. That morning Will and his brother Daniel went golfing, little did I know he was trying to calm his nerves because he would be asking me to become his wife that evening. Every beach trip Will’s dad, Mr. Gary, takes family pictures and that’s exactly what we were doing. It was time for “couple pictures” and Daniels wife, Heather, said that Will and I could go first. Mr. Gary snapped a couple of pictures when we were trying to think of different poses to do, when Will pointed and said “Look at that pirate ship!” (He knows me so well, I am the most gullible).. So I turn around and I’m like “ummm I don’t see any pirate ship” and as I am turning around to see what the heck he is talking about I see him holding a little black box beginning to get down on one knee. He didn’t even have time to say anything- all I could do was cry and be starstruck in the moment I had been waiting on since I was 13 years old. My first love, will be my last. I am the luckiest girl in the entire world.
