How We Met
Miguel and I share the love for soccer. We became teammates three years ago, and that, I would say, was where we kicked it off (pun intended).
Miguel and I spent a lot of time together – getting to know more about each other and enjoying each other’s company as the days passed. But after a month, I got accepted for a postgrad at a University in Manchester (thousands of miles away from home), and I had to leave the next month. Miguel made it a point to visit me while I was there. We were able to go to different parts of the UK. It was one of our first travels together.
After finishing my postgrad, I came back home to the Philippines, where my heart truly belonged. Hey, we survived our LDR!!
How They Asked
Miguel and I promised to travel at least once a year. This year, we decided to go to El Nido, Philippines – one of my favorite places in the world! He brought me to The Birdhouse which had a beautiful view of the islands of El Nido. As the sun was setting, showing pink, orange and blue hues, he told me that he had already asked for my family’s blessing a week before our trip. He then knelt down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
