How We Met
We met in high school in the culinary room, or as my fiancé would say, “his turf”. We hit it off immediately and exchanged numbers but the timing wasn’t right. We ran into each other two more times in college and went on a couple of dates but I ended up “ghosting” him. Even though I stopped talking to him I couldn’t get him out of my head and in 2013 I asked him to the movies. It turns out he had kept my number after all these years and also thought about me periodically. We have been inseparable since. We have waited a long time for this moment since I am just now finishing my DVM. He has been so patient and understanding and we are so excited to finally start building our family!
How They Asked
We were at his house celebrating the 4th of July with his family. He pulled me aside and as his mom set off the fireworks he started reminiscing about our fondest memories and then got down on one knee and told me that there is no one else he would rather spend the rest of his life with. Of course I said yes! He chose his house because this is where we had our first date at, where we shared our first night together, where we first realized we loved each other, and now where we have decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
