How We Met
Stephen and I worked together at the same global company. He was located in Australia and I was located in Texas. It wasn’t until we both went to a conference in San Francisco that we met face-to-face. From that day forward we started a long-distance relationship that eventually resulted in us moving all over the world together. Over the past 5 years, we have lived in Dubai, Sydney, and New York. Our relationship is truly a global relationship.
How They Asked
Stephen and I went to New Zealand for vacation prior to the Christmas holidays in Australia. I had asked that we schedule a professional photo shoot of the two of us while we were in New Zealand.
He had planned to propose during the photoshoot. Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire week we were in New Zealand so we had to cancel the photo shoot. The Saturday before we were going to leave the sun finally came out so we went to Mt Cook to hike. Following the hike, he surprised me with a helicopter ride to the top of the Tasman glacier. Once we landed, the pilot offered to take our photos. Little did I know Stephen had informed the pilot that he was going to propose. Before I knew it Stephen quietly said my name and was on one knee in front of me with a ring box. Of course I said YES!
