How We Met
The couple met at their local Brazilian community church as kids, as both bride and groom are Brazilian and they are involved in serving at their community church. Joe is the pastor’s son and Kathryn has attended the same church since she was a baby. The couple grew up attending the same church events and Kathryn had a crush on Joe since she was like 14 years old and knew she one day would marry him. Kathryn remembers praying “God, one day I really want to marry Joe”. Fast forward they eventually fell in love, dated for 2 and a half years and he finally proposed March 12, 2023!!!
How They Asked
Kathryn’s father is a photographer and has always valued and made a huge effort to get their growing family photographed at least a couple of times a year. This time he told Kathryn that he was going to be in town and wanted the family to meet at Marietta Square for a family photoshoot.
Kathryn had always mentioned to me that she wanted me to photographer. So, a couple of days before the proposal Kathryn’s mother Evelynn, got in touch with me and hired me for this special occasion.
Kathryn got dressed up and drove to Marietta Square with her family for what she thought was a family photoshoot. Joe invited their closest family which turned out to be like 40 people lol, and invited them to witness this special moment. He rented marquee letters that said “MARRY ME” he also had red roses around making an aisle where Kathryn would walk down and meet him and say I do in front of all their closest family and friends. She was so surprised and excited to say “YES”!
