How We Met
I had no idea at the time, but I met my soulmate when I was just eight years old. We grew up attending the same church as well as being in the same Sunday school class week after week. Flash forward eight years and we started dating when I was just sixteen and he was seventeen. We went to four proms and countless Friday night football games together, and graduated from high school in 2013. We did not plan to attend the same college, but scholarship money led us both to the same University. There we attended multiple fraternity functions, game day tailgates, and library dates together. It’s been an amazing ride; we absolutely cannot wait to tie the knot in August and continue our happily ever after together!
how they asked
One spring day I got a text from Ben’s mom saying she needed us to go take a picture by this famous cross in our college town for her to frame for their newly renovated game room. Ben asked my roommate if she could take the picture, and that Friday we got dressed up and headed up the hill to the Mount Sequoyah cross. The camera was snapping away taking photos when all of a sudden Ben whispered in my ear “I want to ask you something.” I looked back at him perplexed, and he bent down to grab a ring box out of his sock. I was in complete shock as he said the most beautiful things to me and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Of course I said YES and proceeded to have the biggest smile on my face for the rest of the day. Every single day of our relationship he has put me first and has treated me like princess. He goes above and beyond to make me happy and I strive to do the same for him.
