How We Met
Brent and I originally “met” on Twitter in 2014 because of our shared love for Angels baseball. Four years later we were both single and I was swiping away on Bumble when I saw someone I recognized. It took me a minute to realize who it was but when I figured it out I decided to slide into his DMs. We instantly hit it off and decided to meet up for dinner and drinks. We met in Huntington Beach for drinks at HQ and Dinner at Ola. We were having such a good time we went back to the bar for another drink and then sat on the beach talking until the lifeguards closed the beach. Little did I know that almost three years later we would get engaged on that very same beach! This is the very first picture we took together on our first of many dates at Disneyland!
How They Asked
On December 5th, 2020 I reluctantly went to the beach with Brent and his sister Delaney. I was overwhelmed with an assignment I needed to do for grad school and I was tired from the week so it took some convincing but I decided to go. I thought we were just going to get Blue Bowl and sit on the beach and maybe take a few pictures. I had no idea we would be getting engaged in front of our families.
We got our Blue Bowl and ate it on the beach and went for a walk. We walked down to the pier and I said let’s take pictures under the pier and both Brent and Delaney were very adamant that we needed to take pictures on the other side of the pier.
I took a picture with Delaney and when Brent walked over so we could take a picture he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes! When he stood up he told me to look up and our whole family was standing on the pier watching and taking pictures.
