Kate and Vince
How We Met
We met during our Freshmen year at Marquette University and were good friends all through college. It wasn’t until New Years Eve 2015 that Vince decided he wanted a midnight kiss and the rest is history!
Our first date was at a little restaurant in Milwaukee called Wolf Peach where we ended up finding our spot at the bar and talking for hours. Since then we have had many wine and pizza dates. The first couple of years of our relationship included many road trips and traveling where Vince learned to field Kate’s questions while trapped in the car for hours and Kate learned how much Vince loves her after she hit a deer with his week old car.
In the summer of 2018, we moved out to Washington, D.C. for a new adventure together! We have enjoyed making new friends who we can count on like family and experiencing a new part of the country.
September, 26th 2020 cannot come soon enough and we are so excited to celebrate our big day with family and friends!
How They Asked
Vince and I were on a family vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico which was perfect in and of itself. On Monday of our weeklong trip, he asked me at about noon if we could go for a sunset walk on the beach. To which I responded sure, but its vacation so I’m going to sit in this chair and drink another mimosa until then. At that point, I knew something was up because we don’t plan anything on our family vacations.
We go for the walk on the beach and the only thing Vince can manage to talk about are the birds and decides right then is a good time to pick an argument about what type of birds were flying above us. Once the sun had set enough he turned to me and reminded me that Puerto Vallarta was where I realized I loved him two years before this moment. He got on one knee and told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. To which I replied shut up! And then, of course, Yes!
Little did I know that my family had been following us along the beach taking pictures and ready to pop a bottle of bubbly! It truly was the most perfect setting and I am so grateful that I got to celebrate with my family around.
I was lucky enough to be able to help Vince pick out the ring. The ring was custom designed by Dino Lozano at Market Street Diamonds in Washington, D.C. It is an elongated cushion cut solitaire diamond in rose gold and pave diamond setting and could not be any more perfect! The team at Market Street was so helpful and so excited for the two of us and made the entire experience a breeze.
Once the sun had set and we headed into town for dinner at a cute restaurant in our favorite little town called Bucerias to continue the celebration. Mexico was a dream the engagement went off without a hitch!
