How We Met
We met at Acadia University during our undergrad degrees! We both were varsity athletes (I’m 2 years ahead of him) and I was teaching a volleyball class that he was in. I was taking down the nets after class and he offered to take the net pole for me because it was so heavy! I added him on Snapchat after that as we had a mutual friend and it kind of just blossomed from there!
How They Asked
He proposed to me on a beach near our apartment. It was 2 days before Christmas and I was super bummed that all of our Christmas plans got cancelled. I am from Nova Scotia originally and am a huge family person- so not being able to go home was heartbreaking. My grandmother passed away unexpectedly in March and we went to that beach when it happened. She and I were super close and I was crushed. When we went down, the sand bar made a perfect shape of a heart- so it was a sign that the beach held a ton of meaning. Sorry, totally rambling! But we were talking about how we should send a Christmas card and we set up my phone on a timer trying to take a full body picture and he did it during the second take!!
