How We Met
Wyatt and I first met in 2013. We went to the same high school. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. We crossed paths every once in awhile, but that is not where our story begins. Fast forward two years later, we were reconnected through a mutual friend. I knew right away that he was the one. We instantly became best friends.
how they asked
We had been planning to go to California for my birthday to watch the Angels vs. Nationals baseball game. Wyatt has always been a Nationals fan and I have always been a Angels fan. I loved that we had a little rivalry going on! He bought us matching jerseys for both of our teams. On July 18, 2017 we headed to the game. My sister and her husband and kids came with us. We got to the stadium and Wyatt walked away to go get our tickets. When he came back he wanted to take a picture on the mound in front of the stadium, but I just wanted to get inside by the field. He finally convinced me to take a few pictures in front of the stadium. I remember feeling the back of his jersey was sweaty and he was shaking, but I didn’t know why. We were taking pictures and he said “let’s take a picture with our tickets” he handed me my ticket which was a Salt Lake Bees ticket from our first date. He started to turn towards me which is when I realized he was crying. “Why are you crying?” I asked. And he started to say with a shaky voice how much he loved me and that he saved this ticket from our first date because he knew that he was going to marry me one day. I totally went into shock and just started hugging him telling him how much I love him. Right after I said yes I saw his parents running around the corner. They flew to California to surprise me! I immediately started bawling and began to run towards them. Which is when Wyatt pulled my arm back because I had totally forgot about the ring! (Oops) he put the ring on my finger and we kissed between our salty tears. We got to celebrate watching the Angels game after with some of our family!
