How We Met
Blake and I met through a blind date at San Pedro Square Market in San Jose. It was the best first date I had ever been on. We had so much fun! After that day, we were inseparable.
how they asked
The week before December 6th, Blake told me he had Sunday off and that we should plan a Sunday after church brunch date with my best friend and her husband. I was ecstatic because Blake rarely gets the weekend off, so full days together are few and far between. The morning of December 6th, Blakes phone rang at 6 am, and he told me he got called to work. I was so sad, but I got ready to continue my church and brunch plans without him, hoping he would be able to get off early and join me later. When church let out, I walked towards my car with my best friend and her husband.
As I got closer, I noticed old clothes on my windshield and a red balloon tied to my side view mirrors. I was so confused, finally, my friend, taking pity on me, pulled a card out of her purse and told me to open it. Inside was a picture of Blake and I, a riddle and an address. It was the first of 10 clues that would lead me on an extravagant scavenger hunt to all of our favorite places. At each stop, a friend or family member was waiting with a red ballon and the next clue. Blake even got my dad to fly into town to hand me a clue! It all ended at San Pedro Square market, where we first met, and one last clue telling me to put all of the pictures together to figure out the puzzle. On the back of the pictures, when fitted together, the words Will You Marry Me? Were spelled out.
As I said yes (of course!) all of our friends and family came out of the crowd to hug and congratulate us. It was a beautiful day!
