How We Met
We met through mutual friends a few years ago. He kicked my butt in beer pong the night we met! After that, he was always there for me and was my go-to person. We talked daily and I always found excuses to hang out with him. I had no idea that all of the nights we watched Grey’s Anatomy before going to the bar and all of the random day adventures were because he was interested in me. His carefree silly attitude and willingness to be there for me is what made me fall for him.
Our relationship started on Halloween night 2017. We were at separate locations and both had quite a few drinks. After hours of texting, we decided to give dating a shot. It was official within two weeks. I haven’t looked back since.
How They Asked
I was cold, itchy, and tired. I decided to take a nap in the tent. I woke up a few hours later and took a peek outside the tent window. Alex was sitting in a lawn chair facing the tent. I decided to get up and get out of the tent. He was smiling at me like a goof. I was totally oblivious! It took me a minute before I looked down at the dirt to see what he wrote. As I looked back up at him, he got down on one knee. I was in total disbelief. After saying yes, I immediately started crying and said I needed to call my mom!
My ring from the proposal was meant to be temporary. Since it was so hard to find a similar diamond style for a decent price, I selected a gemstone halo ring from Kay Jewelers.
We weren’t lucky enough to get photos of the engagement in action, but we did get some lovely shots taken months later!
