How We Met
Me and Ryan have known each other our whole lives growing up in a small town. We were each other first kiss in middle school and began dating our senior year of high school. We both went to West Virginia University and ended up studying Exercise Physiology together and going on to Physical Therapy school. Ryan was a year behind me in PT school and after he graduated, we decided to see the country! We started doing traveling physical therapy and in 2 years have lived in 6 cities in 4 different states. It has been an incredible journey and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else by my side to experience it with!

We decided to take a vacation to Key West between travel assignments. By this point, we had been together for 11 years and talking about marriage/engagement for a while! Earlier this year, we drove from WV to Oregon and back for work. We saw all these amazing sights (Crater Lake, Cannon Beach, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore) and it never happened. The day before he proposed, he asked if I wanted to look at rings again.
I was starting to get annoyed since we had been together so long, created a life with our dog Lucy, and have been looking at rings since February. I was thinking it was never going to happen. We went to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West on our last night to watch the sunset. We walked around and as the sun was setting Ryan turned to look at me and began to talk about our relationship when he got down on one knee and proposed!!!!
I am not sure what I said but began shaking my head and crying. I had dreamed of this moment for years and it was finally happening.
After he proposed, he told me he had hired a professional photographer to follow us around. I was so shocked because it was something I have always wanted to have a picture of but Ryan has never been much of a planner. I am SO glad he proved me wrong that day!!!
