How We Met
Katie and Matt originally met on the dating app Tinder (!) But this is not your average Tinderella story. The two swiped right on each other not once, but twice. Katie and Matt both like to think that fate had a hand in their love story. After talking on Tinder for a few weeks, they met up for drinks and appetizers in Manhattan. The young couple felt immediately at ease with each other and bonded over shared values and qualities. They even ended up staying out all night laughing and sharing stories of their family and friends, college adventures, and life in the tri-state area over a few Moscow Mules. Matt had a feeling that she was “the one” while Katie couldn’t believe she had met such a kind-hearted, selfless gentleman that was single. Katie and Matt got to know each other over a few more fun-filled dates before she headed on a trip to Europe/Africa during the holidays with her girlfriends. However, after a few days back in the states, Katie downloaded the dating app, Bumble, and guess who was the first guy she saw? Katie immediately swiped right immediately as did Matt. Honestly, it felt like a sign and the two immediately picked up where we had left off. Fast-forward to a couple of months of dating, and quite a few Moscow mules and adventures, and the two became inseparable.
How They Asked
Matt proposed to Katie on a beautiful summer night in Nantucket at the Brant Point Lighthouse during sunset in June 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Matt had cleverly arranged for his brother, Mike, to take photos of the couple during sunset. He even had a planned speech about how he was so blessed to have not only found his soulmate but a best friend.
However, once Mike started taking pictures, Matt was so excited that he immediately got down on one knee to ask Katie about forever. The couple’s family had been hiding in the distance and started cheering once Katie said yes! Together with their families, they celebrated their engagement over champagne and dinner at the restaurant at the famed White Elephant hotel.
