how we met
Jerod and I were introduced through mutual friends one afternoon in July of 2015. After a little persuasion from Erica, a coworker turned close friend, I decided to send Jerod a friend request on Facebook. Later that evening we had a brief conversation about our hobbies, exchanged phone numbers, and that was that. Later on in the week, Erica and I were planning a get together for after work that Friday night and I decided to see if Jerod wanted to meet up with us. I messaged him to see if he would like to join us and…denied!
Not really! But, Jerod was going out of town that weekend to visit family. I used this opportunity to let Jerod know that I was going to be free that following Wednesday night and maybe just him and I could hang out. Plans were made. Hanging out turned into dinner and a movie…a date!
The night went wonderful and many more dates were planned in the following weeks. The rest is history!
how they asked
Jerod proposed on Christmas Eve 2018 at his grandparents house in front of family and my children. We had just finished playing a Christmas game where your roll dice and unravel a cellophane ball that contains numbers that get you gifts, as well as candy and money. When the game was over and that last gift was claimed, jerod stood up and said “ there’s one more gift” the next thing I knew he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand. I couldn’t even speak, I was so happy, all I could do was shake my head yes, and cry.
