How We Met
Eddie and I are high school sweethearts. We met at Sayville High School. We began dating when we were 16 years old and we just celebrated our 10 year anniversary together! On January 23, 2008 Eddie bundled up and rode his bike to my house in freezing weather to ask me to be his girlfriend. We were both in our junior year of high school and just finished taking our midterms. It was romantic and such an amazing memory. We have been through high school, college, and illness together. We have always been there for each other and will continue to be there for each other. We can not wait to spend forever together!

On Christmas Eve after dinner with my family we went to Eddie’s parents house to visit. Upon arrival his mother sent us across the street to look for a “forgotten gift” at Eddie’s grandmothers house. Little did I know both our families were getting ready for an engagement that was even bigger and more romantic than anything I could have dreamed. After we found the “forgotten gift” we began to walk home. It was was dark and just began to snow. As we walked holding hands I began to hear “All I Want For Christmas Is You” playing outside. I was a bit confused but thought maybe his parents put the outside speakers on accidentally. As we walked up to his house Eddie distracted me by pointing to the neighbors lights. Then as we walked up to the home he turned to me, expressed his love for me, then knelt down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Just as he knelt down a gorgeous Christmas light display was turned on in front of us with “Kaitie, Will You Marry Me?” glittering and shining as beautiful as a Christmas tree. As I said “yes, of course” in tears, while we hugged and proclaimed our love for each other, both our families and friends came out from the darkness around the house! All of our loved ones and close friends were there to see and share our engagement moment. It was absolutely breath taking and SO much more than I could ever dreamt!
