How We Met
Yes, You can say we are high school sweethearts!
The first time I saw him, I was a freshman in high school. I ran home that day telling my mom, that I saw the cutest boy at school today, and I told her his name was Brock. I never thought our paths would cross because he was a year older than me. A few years later we became friends and got to know each other more and more. We started off as friends, telling each other things and being there for one another, but as we hung out and got to know one another I began to fall for him and wanted to be more than friends. He asked me to be his girlfriend his senior year of high school, and my junior year, and ever since then our love kept growing deeper and deeper for one another.
How They Asked
After the most amazing six years of dating and growing together from being high school sweethearts. It began with an exciting adventure to New York City for a vacation and a conference we were attending. We made a list of everything we wanted to do and see while we were in New York. We made a check on our checklist and visited the Hudson River on August 4th, 2018.
It was a perfect afternoon walking along the Hudson and seeing the water flow and the tall buildings glow. We were reminiscing on how perfect this spot is and how it is our favorite to go to whenever we are in New York.
As we were walking along and reached our favorite spot on the Hudson, Brock stopped and we were both looking out into the water until he made me turn beside him and he got down on one knee! All the sweet words and all the feelings were happening. I couldn’t believe it was real. I, of course, said YES! We prayed together over our future marriage and all what is to come.
Brock then told me he had another surprise. He points over to the Rockefeller park and there was both of our families, our friend who was videotaping the whole proposal, and our other friend who was taking photos. I cried with happiness and couldn’t believe he pulled off the best surprise ever. The rest of the time we all had together in New York was magical. We celebrated and walked the city excited for what’s all to come!
