How We Met
Jason and I met through MySpace messages back in 2009, believe it or not. If you ask him, he’ll say he barely remembers it but that’s where it all began. We never met in person back then but we chatted about the fact that we went to rival high schools and knew of mutual people. Fast forward 8 years later, I decided to look him up on Facebook and see where his life was at. He appeared to be single (and still very cute) and so I friend requested him. After a couple exchanged Facebook messages, which turned into text messages, two days later we had our first date. And I knew from that very first date, he would be someone very special in my life.
How They Asked
My cousin Jamie is a photographer and she’s asked me to model for her on a couple different occasions, so I didn’t think anything of it when she asked me to go with her to Ann Arbor to take pictures. She told me about this pretty botanical garden she found and well Ann Arbor is one of my favorite places…say no more, I was in.
The day of the photoshoot, I picked out a cute dress to wear, styled my hair as nicely as I could and headed to Ann Arbor with my cousin. The garden was so pretty and full of beautiful flowers. We walked around and took a couple shots before we headed towards the conservatory. All I remember is turning the corner and seeing my best friend Alena, who lives in Texas, standing there. I was confused, shocked, and just kept asking “how are you here?” Then I saw Jason standing in the distance and I thought ‘omg this is happening!’
I walked towards Jason and I was shaking with excitement and nerves. I thought he was supposed to be at work. I don’t even remember what he said to me, but he got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and all I remember saying was YES!
Turns out, Jason had been planning the proposal for well over six months with the help of my cousin, Jamie, and my best friend, Alena. It was honestly one of the best days of my life and I can’t wait to marry this man!
