Kaila and Bob

Marriage Proposal Ideas in Washington D.C.

How We Met

We met during a snowstorm in Baltimore in January 2016. Kaila was living and working in Towson after college while Bob moved from NJ to take a job and live in downtown Baltimore. Kaila’s very best friend( also from Bob’s town in NJ) set us up. It was basically a blind date since we had never met. Kaila texted back and forth with her best friend reading “he’s an outstanding guy, the nicest, you should definitely just go meet him.” The storm was so bad we probably should have canceled our plans, but we were both determined to meet one another so we Ubered to Mt Washington Tavern to have drinks. Three years later, a Golden Doodle named Finley, multiple trips and excursions together, lots of wine and food, living in Fells Point and tons of laughs-we are engaged!

How They Asked

Bob took Kaila to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms on a Saturday early evening. We walked around with my brother and his girlfriend for hours trying to find that perfect spot for pictures amongst the crowds. Little did I know we were searching for the spot where he would get down on one knee.

Kaila's Proposal in Washington D.C.

To say Kaila was caught off guard is an understatement when it happened, she really thought they were just doing pictures with the pretty sunset behind them and after a few shots saw Bob drop to his knee. It was a perfect, fairytale celebrating in the blossoms trees along the tidal basin at sunset. We are so excited to enjoy just being engaged and plan to say I do some time in 2020! Baltimore certainly is “Charm City,” because the city brought a girl from PA and a guy from NJ together forever!
