how they asked
On the Friday of Memorial Day weekend when I arrived home Jon Paul had all of our bags packed to head out for a surprise fishing trip in Crested Butte. We stayed at a fishing lodge and on Saturday morning headed off to the Taylor River to find our fishing spot. Despite the snow, sleet, and rain we hiked in the woods and found a secluded spot along the river. It didn’t take long for the trout to start biting! As I fought the first bite of the day Jon Paul grabbed the net and got down on one knee as I reeled the fish in. Jon Paul netted the fish and remained on one knee and then I noticed the THE RING on the tip of his pinky finger. I replied “YES!” after his sincere and ever so romantic proposal! We then enjoyed a glass of wine along the river bank of the Taylor River and enjoyed our day of fishing! That evening Jon Paul had made a surprise reservation for us to stay at The Eleven Experience – it was INCREDIBLE!!! I couldn’t have imagined Jon Paul doing this any other way and I can honestly say I am luckiest girl in the world, I am marrying the man of my dreams and to top it all off he looks like Clark Kent.
