How We Met
Rosario and I met five years ago at a convention. We hit it off right away, but during our first conversation the fire alarm sounded and we had to evacuate the building, so we got separated. I was determined to see him again, so when I spotted his hot pink shirt I decided to follow him.
However in addition to being determined, I was also stubborn and refused to be the one to ask for his number. You know the expression “do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again”? Well I very slowly strolled past Rosario three times until I finally felt someone run up behind me, tap my shoulder and ask for my number. The rest is history.
how they asked
My parents and I had a trip planned for Europe and were traveling to first Italy, then Romania, just the three of us. There is a beautiful heart-shaped garden in Rome, and I was told that there was an overlook at the top where you can look out and see the whole city.
When we reached the top I began to take pictures of the amazing view. While snapping photos I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to see Rosario standing behind me.
He dropped to one knee and told me that the most beautiful girl deserved to be proposed to in the most beautiful place, and asked me to marry him. As if flying to Rome to surprise me wasn’t enough, my sister came too, and he brought along roses and two bottles of rosé in a heart cooler to celebrate in the park together afterwards. We got to spend our first day as an engaged couple exploring Italy together! He couldn’t have planned a more amazing proposal and I can’t wait to spend forever surprising each other.
