How We Met
We’re not entirely sure when we met. We think it was either at a dance class or a party. We were part of rival hip hop dance groups but we were all friends and always hung out together. We had gotten close throughout the years and I always thought he was a great guy that deserved a great girl. Then one day it clicked and I thought that I could be that girl for him.
how they asked
We were going on a weekend trip to Zion with my family. When figuring out what trails to go on, he kept saying that we do at least one that has a really nice view. Of course, I didn’t think anything of it because who wouldn’t enjoy a nice view after a long hike? We decided to do a trail called Observation Point, which was the highest hike of them all to ensure that beautiful view David wanted. I was a little worried about the hike since it had been raining all weekend. Also, we were with my 60 year-old mom and this was one of the more difficult hikes. David was determined to do this hike, nevertheless, and on we went. It drizzled the whole time but the sun came out when we were close to the top. We finally reached it three hours later and what a breathtaking view it truly was. My sister and brother started taking the typical couples photos of us at the edge. I noticed he was being weird and kind of quiet like he had something on his mind. We were standing there at the edge for a little bit so I finally said, “Alright, let’s go.” He said, “There’s just one thing I have to do.” That’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to make him the happiest man in the world. As tears fell down my face, I nodded and whispered, “Yes!” Then right after he got the ring on my finger, it started to rain. Then it hailed. They say water is good luck, right?
