how we met
He was a manager at the restaurant I got hired at. We worked together for about 2 years before we even started to become friends. Then, as we slowly got to know each other better, we started to realize there was more there than just a friendship. He’s been my best friend since. So we have a very strong foundation to our relationship. Starting from nothing, to hiking buddies, to hanging out daily, to best friends, and now partners in everything we do.
how they asked
We had taken a cruise to the southern Caribbean. Our stops were Curaçao, Aruba, St. Kitts and St. Thomas. We had planned to have photos done in Aruba on the beach, since our amazing and lovely friend Camille who came with with her husband also happens to be an amazing professional photographer. So I had mentioned a few times that this would be a perfect time.. it would be on camera… we would have the pictures forever.. but it was always just brushed off. Although I had some clue, even if at this point it was just a little spark of hope. But I also knew that he had the ring. We had gone ring shopping back in September and I found the ring. I loved it right away, and through the next couple months of occasional ring shopping, I never found something I liked as much as that ring. Then when we went back to the jeweler, Bag Area Diamond Company, it was still there, 2.5 months later. We found out it would be out in this big sale they were having later that month and that it would have a huge discount on it. So I knew I would be buying it that day, that why I knew he had the ring. It just took him 2 months to ask. And boy did he ask. It was perfect. The sky was blue, the water was gorgeous, the sand was white, he cried, I cried. I had been waiting for this moment since we started dating. And here it was. And it was everything I had hoped for, and more.
