how they asked

Jullian and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary the day he proposed. I had school on the day of our actual anniversary so we had been planning this special date for a while to make sure that we got a proper celebration. He took it into his hands to plan the whole thing and all I knew was that we were going to dinner. I didn’t know where or what else he was planning for that night. He picked me up at 3:30 and we started driving to the first destination. I was pretty clueless until we turned into the parking lot of local Winery, where he made dinner reservations. We sat down at a cute little table for two and had a delicious and romantic dinner. After enjoying that, he said we had to leave for the next destination. As we started driving, he told me I was going to have to put a blindfold on when he told me to.

I was confused and tried to fight it (makeup, duh!), but finally gave in. All I could figure out with the blindfold on was that he was taking me to the park where we had our first picnic date 3 years ago! I figured he blindfolded me because he set up a cute picnic or something special. We got out of the car and he guided me, still blindfolded (SO hard to walk blindfolded, just sayin..). I heard music as we approached where he told me to stop and take the blindfold off on his count.

He counted to 3 and I took the blindfold off to find myself standing in the middle of a gazebo over the lake, filled with beautiful lights, nearly 50 of our close friends and family members, and the love of my life in front of me, on his knee, with a ring in his hand and he asked me to marry him. And of course, I said YES!
