How We Met
Tim and I initially got to know each other through Instagram, but let’s be honest, I don’t want to give social media too much credit. We live in the same town, have lots of mutual friends, but never really ran into each other until a Halloween house party a year ago. A few minutes of small talk was enough for him to follow me on Instagram later that same night after the party had ended. After a couple months of occasional & innocent back and forth messaging, he got the guts to finally ask me out in early January. We went on our first date (*cough cough* my first date EVER…as well as his!) to grab breakfast at a local bagel shop. We ended up talking for hours…it was perfect. We went on a few more dates and before you know it we were official by the 29th of January. I had my first boyfriend, and he, his first girlfriend. Eight months later he put a ring on it!
how they asked
I was flying across country to my favorite state to meet up with my best friend Paige Wagner for a Coldplay concert. When I arrived in San Francisco, the adventure just began. First, we went to cute little brunch cafe and then met up with her parents to have some cheese and wine overlooking the bay. After that, Paige took me on a stroll of the Painted Ladies neighborhood before we headed off to dinner north of the Golden Gate bridge. Before dinner, our last stop was Battery Spencer, a panoramic overlook of the entire bay. As we got to the top of the trail, I started taking pictures when I suddenly heard a voice asking “Can I get a photo with you?”. My heart skipped a beat because I knew that voice.
When I turned around, I saw Tim on one knee in San Francisco asking me to MARRY HIM. I’ve waited my whole life for this moment and Tim took my breath away. Never did I ever imagine that I would be getting engaged in California. It was all so perfect from the beautiful, blue sky to the very man who was standing right in front of me. It was everything I could have dreamed of and more. I looked at Tim with tears in my eyes as I said, “ YES!” to the man of my dreams, who I know will take care of me, provide for me, and push me to do all God has for me.
After we had our moment, I then heard cheering behind me. I turned to find thirteen of my friends standing with my family. At that moment I never felt so loved. Honestly, every moment from the beginning of the trip to now does not feel real. Looking back, I can say nothing prepared me for that special moment. He was worth the tears, the waiting, the trials, and all the moments I poured out my heart to God. I have the man I know God had in mind for me which is why I cannot wait to spend forever with him. To those who have celebrated with us in the last few days—— thank you from the bottom of my heart. These are the moments I will never forget. Last but definitely not least, Tim, thank you for the most beautiful, epic, dreamy proposal. It was a dream come true. Now let’s get MARRIED! #CheersToTheCzerneks
