How We Met
Believe it or not, sometimes online dating can be successful! Two years ago today, we met for dinner and drinks followed by the Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary the night before Halloween. Super romantic, huh? Five months later, we went to the Super Bowl together and watched our beloved Eagles win for the first time. That solidified it all. The rest is history.
How They Asked
DJ made “plans” for us to meet up with his college roommate and his wife at Chateau Bu-de on the water in Chesapeake City, MD for a casual Saturday afternoon followed by college football at a local bar. It sounded great to me, but to my complete surprise, this was all a big lie. With the help of my sister, he orchestrated both families to be hiding at the winery when we got there. DJ and I are both extremely close to our families so he knew how important it was to be able to celebrate with them on the day of our engagement.
However, he went above and behind, to the point of changing my sister’s name on his phone to his friend just to be safe! Apparently we got there early, so we took a walk the water. While we were down by the dock, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Within seconds, the sound of roaring screams came from the top of the hill.
When I looked up, I saw both our families walking towards us with balloons and flowers. My three nephews and his one nephew all wearing matching shirts that read “Aunt Julsy Said Yes!” were running as fast as they could to get to us. It was a dream come true. Not a dry eye or an empty glass for the rest of the day. Nothing like spending the best day of your life with the best people in your life.
